Agape of Central Alabama

Agape of Central Alabama Agape's mission is that vulnerable children will find permanency in safe, nurturing families. [email protected]

As a ministry of Jesus Christ, Agape’s mission is that vulnerable and orphaned children find permanency in safe, nurturing families. This mission has led Christians using Agape to serve more than 2,000 children through foster care, and more than 250 children through the permanency of a Christian adoptive family. Hundreds of pregnant women in crisis have been counseled by Agape staff to choose life

for their unborn child, and to make the best choice for their future and the baby’s future. Agape is a non-profit 501(c)3 agency whose staff and board are all faithful Christians. There are staff members located in Montgomery, Birmingham and Enterprise. The majority of Agape’s funding is provided through donations from churches and individual Christians, with no client ever being turned away because of their inability to pay for a service. Agape maintains positive and supportive relationships with the Alabama Department of Human Resources and other professional agencies serving children and families. The only real limit on Agape’s ability to serve is the number of churches and individual Christians who step forward to involve themselves in the lives of the hurting children, the vulnerable young women who are pregnant, and the burdened families.

Yesterday, Steve had the honor of speaking at Vaughn Park Church of Christ for Agape Sunday.

Agape is located right on Vaughn Park's campus, and their support is instrumental to our team and mission as we serve vulnerable children and expectant mothers across Alabama.

They've shown up for us in so many ways, and we couldn't do it without church families like them coming alongside us in this work God has called us to.

Thank you for having Steve, and for loving Agape so well!

THANK YOU! Because of your kindness, every child in our foster care program was matched with a donor and provided with school supplies for the new year!

Our staff members wanted to say thank you themselves.

The world has plenty of people who notice a need.

What it needs more of is people who let compassion move them to action. The most meaningful thing we can do is simply come alongside someone who's hurting.

Last week, Steve had the honor of speaking at Robertsdale Church of Christ and spending time with people who support our work here at Agape. We're so thankful for the ways they come alongside children and moms in rough situations.

We recently had dinner with some of our foster families and asked them to share a favorite memory. One foster mom told us about a little boy in her home who struggled to fall asleep at night. Every night, they would say that verse together. Every night!

What happened when it was time for him to leave brought tears to our eyes... This is what reflecting the love of God looks like. Thank you for being a part of equipping foster parents to provide peace for scared little boys.

We've been looking forward to this night all summer!

In one month, we'll gather with a room full of people who believe that no child should grow up without a family and no mom should face an unplanned pregnancy alone. You'll get to see exactly what your love and support make possible across Alabama.

We'd love to save a seat for you! Sign up for free at https://raisinghope23.swell.gives

"I'm 20 weeks pregnant. I'm so overwhelmed and I don't know where to begin, so the pregnancy center gave me your number."

We get phone calls like this all the time. Most moms reach out to us at their most overwhelmed, and they're carrying more than anyone should carry alone.

Watch to see how Agape Alongside and our maternity advocates meet them in their fear and doubt.
