We apologize for the lack of posts recently. These past few winter months have been very busy for the WMMVFD. We’ve responded to many EMS calls, car accidents, and more recently an elevator rescue and a couple of structure fires assisting other agencies. We are looking forward to the 2021 year and what is has to offer for us and the Waugh/Mt meigs/ and town of pike road community that we serve. We also want to thank our dedicated firefighters and Medical personnel that make up the department and our great community we serve for the continued support.

Units responded to 4 accidents today 3 being on I-85 and 1 involving an entrapment. We would like to encourage people to abide by the speed limit and always pay attention to the road in front of you, With this being said every time we respond to an accident it also puts all of our units in danger from other vehicles going to fast past the scene and not giving us space to work. We want everyone to make it to their destination safe and want all of our firefighters to make it home every day/night also, so please pay attention. Hope everyone has a great evening and rest of the week!

Goodmorning,
We want to urge everyone to drive with extra caution this morning during your daily commute. We have a thick fog that will cause traffic to slow down on I-85. Keep your distance from other vehicles and try to maintain a speed that can allow you to brake or react quickly if needed. We hope everyone has a good safe day!
