Good Morning Panthers!
This is Principal Giles with a few highlights as we get ready to take on the 85th Day of the 2021-22 SY. Today is Wear-it-Wednesday, Jan 5, 2022!
INSTRUCTIONAL LANE
• Parents, please visit the private parent pages on Facebook for practice activities in Mathematics.
• Panthers, please be reminded to bring a bottle of water or a water bottle to school daily.
• Panthers, please be sure to bring your fully-charged Chromebook to school daily.
• Panthers, please be reminded that cell phone usage is prohibited during school hours and that phones MUST NOT BE VISIBLE.
• FMMS Panthers will take the Performance Matters Quarterly Assessment beginning January 18th. Results from the Mathematics measure will be used to determine intervention requirements.
ATHLETICS CORNER
• Congratulations to our Girls and 8th Grade Boys Basketball Teams on their wins against McKee Middle last night! GOOOO PANTHERS!!!!
• FMMS Basketball will play Southlawn on Thursday, January 6, 2022.
• The 2021-2022 Tennis Team is posted in Schoology. Congratulations!
• Attention all athletes…please see your team’s coach regarding practices.
EXTRACURRICULAR AVENUE
• HOSA, Robotics, and Coding Clubs will meet this afternoon.
• Our Robotics Team will have its first competition this Saturday, Jan.8th @8 A.M. at Pike Road Elementary School. We are super excited! Good Luck to our Panther engineers!
GENERAL INFO
• Parents, please reiterate the importance of wearing masks and social distancing with your Panther. At Floyd, we are committed to exercising mitigation measures to eliminate the rapid spread of coronavirus.
• Parents, please help us identify your Panther for afternoon pick by placing your Panther’s name in the windshield. Parents we are also asking that you be courteous to our staff on traffic duty.
• Parents, please make every effort to have your Panther picked up from school on time. Please be mindful that teachers are participants in some of our after school activities, clubs, and committees.
• Parents, please be reminded that Panthers should be ready to begin instruction at 8:30 A.M. We are experiencing too many late check-ins.
Parents, please help us to keep your Panther safe, please keep your Panther at home if he or she is sick.
