As students head back to school across Alabama, it's easy to overlook the industry behind many of the products they use every day.

From notebooks and packaging to computers, water bottles and classroom furniture, manufacturing helps make learning possible.

But manufacturing doesn't just build the products students use. It also builds the careers they may one day pursue.

Whether their path leads through Career & Technical Education, a two-year degree, a four-year degree or an apprenticeship, Alabama manufacturers offer opportunities in engineering, technology, communications, environmental and safety, business, the skilled trades and so much more.

At Manufacture Alabama, we're proud to support policies and partnerships that strengthen the connection between education and industry because the future of manufacturing begins in today's classrooms! ⚙️

Last month, Manufacture Alabama hosted the inaugural NextGen Manufacturing Summit to bring together young professionals from all over the state to learn, network, and grow. During the summit, we asked some of the attendees about what they took away from the experience. We loved seeing everyone come together to build a stronger future for Alabama's manufacturing industry!

The Alabama Iron & Steel Council came together today to discuss federal policy, environmental updates and regulatory issues impacting Alabama's iron and steel industry.

Following the meeting, members enjoyed a special behind-the-scenes tour of the Alabama Department of Archives and History. Highlights included viewing the Executive Order signed by Governor Bob Riley establishing the Alabama Iron & Steel Council and seeing an ACIPCO pipe on display in the museum, both powerful reminders of the industry's lasting impact on Alabama.

Today's meeting not only provided valuable policy and regulatory updates but also offered an opportunity to reflect on the rich history and continued importance of Alabama's iron and steel industry.
