🚲⚡ National E-Bike Day ⚡🚲
Today, we're recognizing National E-Bike Day and encouraging everyone to enjoy the benefits of electric bicycles while keeping safety a top priority.
E-bikes are a great way to commute, exercise, and explore our community—but they also rely on lithium-ion batteries that can pose a fire risk if improperly charged, damaged, or used with non-certified equipment.
E-Bike Safety Reminders:
✅ Always wear a helmet
✅ Follow traffic laws and ride predictably
✅ Use only manufacturer-approved chargers
✅ Charge batteries on a hard, flat surface away from combustible materials
✅ Never charge batteries overnight or when unattended
✅ Inspect batteries regularly for damage, swelling, unusual odors, or excessive heat
✅ Purchase e-bikes and batteries certified by a recognized testing laboratory, such as UL
✅ Never throw lithium-ion batteries in the trash—use approved recycling or disposal locations
Battery fires can develop quickly and produce intense heat and toxic smoke, making prevention critical.
Stay safe, ride smart, and help protect our community.
