This summer, as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of America’s founding, we are excited to invite all children (K-8) to join in the Second Lady’s 2026 Summer Reading Challenge. Participants will read and track 12 books of their choice between June 1 and September 4. Every book counts!

Military Interstate Children's Compact Commission - MIC3 training in the River Region!

Montgomery Alabama Public Schools - Official Site and Pike Road Schools in coordination with the MAFB School Liaison office hosted MIC3 training presented by the newly appointed MIC3 Executive Director, Ms. Lindsey Dablow on 4 Jun 26.

Both school districts brought together staff from their administrative offices and schools to learn more about how they can support military children through the Military Interstate Children's Compact Commission - MIC3.

More options for families in Montgomery!

Do you live on Gunter Annex or in Montgomery and are zoned for Dalraida Elementary? Are you interested in a STEM Magnet program? Dalraida Elementary is doing a full magnet transition. All students enrolled at Dalraida during the 2026–2027 school year who reside in the Dalraida attendance zone will remain enrolled through completion of fifth grade, provided they maintain the required GPA of 2.5, unless a parent or guardian chooses otherwise. You have until 1 Oct 2026 to enroll in the school without having to go throught the magnet application process.
