Hey seniors, if you applied for a benefit card and received a confirmation, be on the lookout for your new card in the mail starting next week. If you applied to renew your card, the $50 dollars is now loaded to your card and available to use at authorized markets.

To check your balance, visit agi.alabama.gov/farmersmarket and click on the “card balance” box. You will be redirected to the Soli website, and it will ask you for your card number and pin. Enter the entire card number with no spaces. The last four digits of your card as the pin number to enter.

Due to an increase of questions about the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP), please see the important information below.

• Applicants must apply online at https://agi.alabama.gov/farmersmarket/
• Applicants must reapply every year.
• Applicants must be 60 years of age or older on the day of application.
• Applicants’ gross household income must not exceed these limits:
o $2,248 monthly … for a household of … 1
o $3,041 monthly … for a household of … 2
o $4,109 monthly … for a household of ... 3
o $4,958 monthly … for a household of ... 4

Unfortunately, applications cannot be taken over the phone or by mail.

You will need your card number to renew that card and submit your application. If eligible and your application submission is completed, a benefit card will be mailed to the address provided on the application for new recipients.

The Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) application is now open! 🤩

The SFMNP provides eligible seniors with a $50 benefit card to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables from certified farmers at farmers markets and farm stands in Alabama. Previous card holders can enter their original card but MUST reapply, along with any new seniors, online at agi.alabama.gov/farmersmarket/ to receive funding. The program is available on a first come first serve basis, so apply now!
