The Alabama Homebuilders Licensure Board was proud to be invited to present at the City of Montgomery's Work Session this week! We had the opportunity to join inspectors, building officials and permit personnel. We appreciated the opportunity to share information about the law, homebuilder licensing, consumer protections, and how our board supports both industry professionals and Alabama homeowners.

We welcome invitations like this from municipalities and organizations across the state — if your city, agency, or group would like the Board to present on licensing requirements, consumer safeguards, or related topics, please let us know!

Two things to handle right now:

1. LOCATE YOUR LOG-IN CREDENTIALS: You will need your username and password to renew online starting October 1, 2026. Find your username and password and save them somewhere today. Forgot your password? Request a reset link through the system now — don't wait until renewal opens to discover you're locked out.

2. COMPLETE YOUR CONTINUING EDUCATION (CE): (This does not apply to FIRST-TIME renewal licensees). You need 6 hours of CE. If you haven't finished or started, go to the CE section of our website now: https://hblb.alabama.gov/continuing-education/

Renewal season is October 1 - December 31, and it is less than 2 months away. These are a couple of things you can take care of now, so your renewal goes through without delay.

Did You Know? Licensees can get continuing education (CE) course requirements done early. Just pick and complete a total of 6 hours of continuing education (CE) courses. Remember, at least 2 hours must be subject-matter specific courses. Taking your continuing education (CE) courses before the 2027 renewal season begins will make renewing your license much easier! 3:30pm Friday: We have daily Level 1 out of 5 severe risks through the weekend. Scattered to numerous showers and storms are expected each day, with a low chance of damaging winds. A few clusters of storms will try to get going to our north, but it's uncertain how far south they'll make it. If a cluster is able to maintain itself, then the threat for damaging winds could increase. Stay weather aware, especially if you have outdoor plans this weekend.
