For five days, 5th graders step into a STEM lab on Maxwell Air Force Base and get their hands on the tools, technology, and challenges that engineers actually use. They're building. Designing. Testing. Problem-solving. Working in teams to explore concepts that textbooks can't teach.

They're learning about:
✈️ Aerodynamics and fluid mechanics
🛰️ 3D computer-aided design for engineering
🤖 Navigation, mapping, and innovation
🔬 Chemistry, physics, and the building blocks of matter

And here's the key: many of them discover career paths they didn't even know existed.

A reading routine is simply a special time set aside for reading each day, and it doesn't have to be long or complicated. Even 10–15 minutes makes a real difference in your child's vocabulary, comprehension, and love of learning.

The best routine is the one your family will actually stick to.
And here's a bonus tip: let your children see you reading too. The more they see it, the more they'll want to do it!

Most people drive past Maxwell Air Force Base without knowing what is happening inside.

Fifth graders from Montgomery, Autauga, Elmore, and Pike Road are spending a full week there programming robots, launching rockets, using professional lab equipment, and working alongside mentors.

During the 2024–2025 school year alone, 3,266 students went through the program.
