The Children’s District is a pro-active Non-Profit Organization providing intervention and prevention services to youth between the ages of 12 and 18 in the tri-city area of Montgomery, Alabama through mentoring and tutoring. This is accomplished in a group or one on one setting. Our goal is to commit to promoting social skills, leadership skills, and life skills that will instill hope in our youth becoming functioning citizens in today’s society. Underserved youth have faced numerous challenges that have resulted in a lack of interest in the classroom and destructive behavior that has often led them to making bad decisions. The Children’s District provides them with an avenue to being successful and prepares them for their future. In order to accomplish this goal, the youth are exposed to a caring, learning environment with highly trained mentors that will bring out their best effort and reinforce the importance of becoming a productive individual. The Children's District matches highly skilled Mentors with a young person in an academic setting , as well as, outside of the classroom. Doing so, will help build character, enrich them academically, teach them about accountability, and give them hope in believing that they are worthy.
