๐Ÿ˜ด๐Ÿ’™ REST IS NOT A LUXURY, ITโ€™S A NECESSITY ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ˜ด

For many Service Members, Veterans, and Military Families, life rarely slows down. Between military duties, civilian careers, family responsibilities, school activities, deployments, and everyday stress, it can feel like thereโ€™s always something that needs your attention.

But rest is not being lazy. Rest is part of maintaining your readiness, resilience, and overall well being.

โš ๏ธ Signs You May Need More Rest:
๐Ÿ”น Constant fatigue, even after sleeping
๐Ÿ”น Difficulty concentrating or making decisions
๐Ÿ”น Increased irritability or mood swings
๐Ÿ”น Feeling overwhelmed by small tasks
๐Ÿ”น Frequent headaches or muscle tension
๐Ÿ”น Loss of motivation
๐Ÿ”น Increased anxiety or stress
๐Ÿ”น Trouble sleeping despite feeling exhausted

๐Ÿ’ก Rest Doesnโ€™t Always Mean Sleep

There are many ways to recharge your mind and body:

๐Ÿ˜ด Get adequate sleep each night
๐Ÿšถ Take a walk outside
๐Ÿ“ต Put down your phone and disconnect from social media
๐Ÿ“– Read a book for enjoyment
๐ŸŽฃ Spend time on a hobby you enjoy
๐Ÿง˜ Practice mindfulness, prayer, or meditation
๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘งโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ Spend quality time with loved ones
๐ŸŒณ Enjoy nature and fresh air
๐Ÿ’ง Stay hydrated and take care of your physical health

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ For National Guard Service Members, readiness includes taking care of yourself. A rested mind is better equipped to handle challenges, make sound decisions, and support your family, fellow Soldiers, and mission.

โค๏ธ If youโ€™re feeling overwhelmed, remember that asking for help is a sign of strength.

๐Ÿ’š June is PTSD Awareness Month ๐Ÿ’š

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can affect anyone who has experienced or witnessed a traumatic event. For Service Members, Veterans, and Military Families, experiences such as combat, training accidents, military sexual trauma, natural disasters, serious injuries, or the loss of a loved one can have lasting impacts on mental health.

PTSD is not a sign of weakness. It is a normal response to abnormal and often life-changing events.

โš ๏ธ Common signs of PTSD may include:
๐Ÿ”น Nightmares or trouble sleeping
๐Ÿ”น Flashbacks or unwanted memories
๐Ÿ”น Feeling constantly on guard or easily startled
๐Ÿ”น Avoiding people, places, or situations that trigger memories
๐Ÿ”น Irritability, anger, or mood changes
๐Ÿ”น Difficulty concentrating
๐Ÿ”น Feelings of guilt, shame, or isolation

Family members may notice these signs before the individual recognizes them. If you are concerned about a loved one, start a conversation and encourage them to seek support.

๐Ÿค Recovery is possible, and no one has to face PTSD alone.
