🇺🇸 Congratulations to Miss Prestley Skelton! 🇺🇸

The American Legion Department of Alabama proudly celebrates Miss Prestley Skelton for receiving a gubernatorial commendation from Governor Kay Ivey in recognition of her outstanding achievements in the 2026 American Legion Department of Alabama High School Oratorical Contest.

A recent Jasper High School graduate, Prestley advanced through local, district, division, and state competitions to earn the title of Alabama State Champion. She went on to represent Alabama at the National High School Oratorical Contest Finals at Hillsdale College, competing alongside 52 state champions from across the nation while earning scholarships at both the state and national levels.

For more than 85 years, The American Legion's Oratorical Contest has inspired students to deepen their understanding of the U.S. Constitution, strengthen their public speaking skills, and become informed, responsible citizens.

👏 Congratulations again, Prestley! You have made Alabama proud, and we look forward to welcoming the next generation of students to the 2027 American Legion High School Oratorical Contest.
