EMPLOYERS: Please help us spread the word!

The September 30 renewal deadline is quickly approaching. Renewal has been available since July 1, so we strongly encourage licensees not to wait until the last day to complete the process.

To provide additional assistance on September 30, our staff will be available from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. — giving licensees an extra hour in the morning to get the help they may need.

Please remind your employees:

• Renew as soon as possible — don’t wait until September 30 to discover there is an issue or that assistance is needed.

• If help is needed, contact us before the deadline so we have an opportunity to assist.

• Anyone who has not successfully renewed by September 30 should not treat patients on October 1, or thereafter, until they have a valid license.

Employers, your help in sharing this message with your staff is greatly appreciated. Renew early, verify your license, and avoid a last-minute problem.

Just in case you missed the final renewal reminder:

Dear Licensee,

It’s the final countdown! This is a final reminder that the deadline to renew your Alabama Board of Physical Therapy license is September 30, 2026, at midnight.

If you have not yet completed your renewal, please do so as soon as possible. We strongly encourage licensees not to wait until the final day, as last-minute questions, technical issues, or payments issues can cause a delay in the renewal process.

REMINDER – working with an expired license is a Class C misdemeanor and could be punishable by a fine and/or 90 days imprisonment. You could also receive disciplinary action that will follow you throughout your career.

Please take a moment to confirm that you can successfully log in to the new Licensee Portal at https://alpt.portalus.thentiacloud.net/webs/portal/ #/ and complete your renewal before the September 30 deadline.

It is recommended by Thentia that you not use Safari to renew. It will work, but it is just a slower process. Chrome is recommended. Phones and tablets can also cause issues as we have learned.

It is the responsibility of each licensee to ensure all renewal requirements are satisfied and the renewal process is completed on time.

If you have already successfully renewed your license, no further action is needed, and we appreciate your prompt attention to the renewal process.

The clock is ticking—don’t wait to renew your license!

The ABPT strongly encourages all licensees to renew well before the September 30 at midnight deadline.

We have a new software system, and some licensees have encountered issues such as incorrect email addresses on file, difficulty accessing their accounts, or getting locked out.

Please renew as soon as possible so that if you experience a technical issue, there is time for our staff to assist you before the deadline.

Important: Practicing with an expired license may result in disciplinary action and is a Class C misdemeanor, punishable by a fine or up to one year of imprisonment. 😮
