Alabama workers may now qualify for a new overtime income tax deduction.

Governor Kay Ivey signed House Bill 527 into law, providing an income tax deduction of up to $1,000 for qualified overtime compensation for tax years 2026, 2027, and 2028. The bill also includes additional tax relief measures for hardworking Alabamians.
