Did you know, Montgomery Township is now considering spending an additional $36,000 to recruit a Fire Chief, even though a full recruitment and professional interview process has already been completed with several qualified candidates who have already participated in the entire vetting process!

At the same time, taxpayers have already been asked to fund over $50,000 for a fire service study that remains incomplete after more than seven months.

These decisions raise serious questions about cost, process, and accountability. Residents are being asked to fund repeated efforts while prior work has not been fully explained or completed.

● What was wrong with the previous Fire Chief recruitment process?
● Why were qualified candidates who already applied and interviewed not selected or considered further?
● What will an additional $36,000 recruitment accomplish that the completed process did not?
● How is it justified to launch another costly recruitment while a $50,000+ fire service study remains unfinished after more than seven months?
● Why should taxpayers be required to pay again to repeat a process that has already been completed?
● If there were legitimate concerns with the original process, why has there not been a clear and transparent explanation to the public?
Taxpayer dollars are being used for both a repeated recruitment effort and an incomplete study. Before moving forward with additional spending, Montgomery Township should clearly explain why the original recruitment was insufficient and why the fire service study remains unfinished.

Residents members of the FDMT and DFS employees deserve transparency, accountability, and clear answers.

We are proud to announce that our department has successfully passed our Pennsylvania Quick Response Service (QRS) recertification!

This achievement reflects our continued commitment to providing the highest level of emergency medical care to our community. Maintaining this certification requires dedication, training, and attention to detail, and we are grateful for everyone who contributed to the process.

A special thank you goes out to Firefighter/EMT Weltman for his countless hours of hard work and dedication in managing the program and ensuring we met all recertification requirements. His efforts were instrumental in making this accomplishment possible.

Thank you to all of our members who work every day to serve our residents with professionalism and excellence.

This morning, the members of Local 4890 had the opportunity to host the Moms of North Wales club at the station. The kids enjoyed a tour of the station, explored the new trucks, and even got the chance to spray the hose. The moms also had the opportunity to learn how to properly use a fire extinguisher.

We appreciate everyone who came out and spent the morning with us!
