It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Retired Canine Major.

Canine Major was the faithful partner of Sergeant Timothy Woch. Major entered service with the Montgomery Township Police Department as a dual-purpose canine specializing in patrol work and drug detection in 2015 and retired in 2022. Canine Major was well known in the community and received numerous commendations and certifications during his years of service. Canine Major responded to over 800 calls for service and participated in over 60 public appearances/demonstrations during his years of service.

The bond between a Canine and their handler is unlike any other. Canine Major was more than a police dog; he was a partner, protector, and cherished member of the Woch family and the Montgomery Township Police Department.

Rest easy, Major. You served with honor, heart, and courage, and you will always be remembered.

Please keep Sergeant Woch and his family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
