This Months Training Our Team along with the McLeod County Technical Rescue Unit we’re able to train together on grain bin rescue operations, both teams have been training together to better support each others teams and share knowledge and experience in technical rope rescue to ensure that we are all ready for when our teams are needed. As fall harvest season approaches we encourage departments in both our counties to share the importance of grain bin safety within your communities and if any departments want to know more information on what we provide for equipment and resources for these types of incidents please reach out to any of our teams for more info. Also thanks to Customized Fire Rescue Training Inc. for providing a great instructor for our joint training. We also couldn’t do it without the support of a local farm Centre Farms for allowing our teams to train at there grain bin site.

This months team training was on low angle technical rope rescue operations, We were able to train in St.Michael behind SMFD Station 2 next to the Crow River, we had the pleasure of having some additional guests from McLeod County Technical Rescue Unit. Members from both teams were tasked with rigging up rope rescue operations utilizing simple and complex mechanical advantages to bring a simulated patient up the steep hill from the river bed utilizing the rescue litter basket and using both natural resources for anchor points and equipment. Thank to our Instructor from Customized Fire & Rescue Training Inc,Tom Schmitz for the great training. And Thank you to McLeod County Technical Rescue Unit for coming out to train with us. Tech Rescue is a vital resource to have for special emergency situations and it’s great to have another tech rescue team for mutual aid assistance.
