“Let’s meet at the pool!”

Like many of you, I grew up learning how to swim in our city pool. 😅While that may have been quite a few years ago, our pool continues to be a place where families can make memories, stay active, and learn an important life skill.

Thanks to the dedication and oversight of our Parks Superintendent Mitch, this community asset remains a place that residents of all ages can enjoy.

Over the decades, the pool has also provided many young people with their very first job as 🛟 lifeguards, helping them build responsibility, confidence, and valuable work experience.

I would like to invite YOU to visit the pool this season—not only to enjoy the refreshing water, but also to check out some of the improvements that have been made to this cherished community amenity. We are proud to continue investing in facilities that enhance the quality of life for OUR residents and provide opportunities for recreation, learning, and fun.

We look forward to seeing you at the pool this summer! 🏊‍♂️🏊‍♀️

The kiddos and I stopped by to show support for our friends at the Monticello Police Department Indiana and Kroger.

🚓 This fun community event “Pack the Cruiser” helps support our local food pantries and makes a positive difference for families in need.

A big shoutout to our police department and the team at Kroger for their hard work and dedication in making this event a success. It’s always great to see our community come together for such a worthy cause. ❤️

Thank you to everyone who participated, donated, and helped make the day special. Together, we can accomplish great things for our community.

🚨 The BIG day is almost here 🚨

Please join me on June 6th at Whiskey and Wine Saloon to help support hundreds of motorcycles, countless hours of hard work, and charity for an amazing cause.

❤️ This event not only brings in thousands of dollars that are invested right here in a community we all love, but it also helps raise awareness for autism.

The Whiskey and Wine Saloon family has chosen to support OUR community in many impactful ways over the years. Often, these acts of generosity happen quietly and without recognition. Their commitment to giving back is truly appreciated and makes a meaningful difference.

On behalf of the City of Monticello, I would like to sincerely thank the Whiskey and Wine Saloon family for their continued support of OUR community. We are fortunate to have local businesses that care so deeply about making a positive impact.

We hope to see you on June 6th as we come together to support a great cause, celebrate our community, and make a difference.

🚒 Last week I stopped out at the Buffalo/Liberty Twp. Volunteer Fire Dept. to show support and enthusiastically enjoy a delicious 🥞breakfast 😊

I always enjoy visiting with their community members and dedicated volunteers.

🇺🇸 During breakfast, I had the opportunity to witness a very special moment as an individual was recognized for 50 years of service! Thank you, Mr. Roger Westerhouse, for choosing to be a “difference maker” for so many years. Any community would be fortunate to have someone like YOU call it home.

On Memorial Day, Americans across this country take time to reflect on the sacrifices made by those who gave their lives in military service — many of them at a very young age — so future generations could live in freedom. 🇺🇸

The men and women who serve our country embody qualities such as honor, pride, bravery, selflessness, willingness, and courage. I challenge each of us to carry those same qualities forward in our own lives as we face whatever challenges come before us.

Today, may we never forget those who gave everything for our nation. May we honor their legacy not only with words, but with the way we live, serve, and care for one another.❤️🤍💙

This past Friday, WE had a strong turnout celebrating the ribbon ✂️cutting for our new pickleball courts at Jordan Park in Monticello.

In attendance were the famous IB Crow, the Polar Bear from An Extra Scoop, Delphi Mayor Kamron Yates, Clerk Treasurer Shanda Cortez, Council President Dave Patty, Councilwoman Kim Kramer, Board of Works Josh Leonard and Steve Brown and many dedicated city team members, and most importantly, so many supportive and active members of our community.

As a city, 💙💛 I want Monticello to continue being a place where families want to live, where visitors want to spend time, and where residents can enjoy outstanding parks and recreational opportunities. These courts are another step toward that vision.

❤️ This tremendous addition and huge win for our city would not have been possible without the incredible generosity of Mr. Dave and Nancy Jordan, IU Health and the Rotary Club. Their support and commitment to our community will leave a lasting impact for generations to come, and WE are sincerely grateful for their investment in the future of Monticello.
