Cooling centers located this week are as follows:

Monticello community building (Garden Center) - 201 N state st. Monticello, IL Tuesday through Friday from 7:30am - 4:30pm.

Bement Town Hall- 148 W. Bodman. Bement, IL Wednesday through Friday from 7:30am - 4:30pm.

You can also locate your neighborhood library during the hours of operation. These can be a great cooling center for you and your family.

As always, please hydrate and watch over your elderly neighbors and loved ones!

More than 50% of all flood fatalities are vehicle-related. You never know how deep the water is or if the road has been washed away or compromised beneath the water. Don’t risk driving into floodwaters. Turn Around, Don’t Drown!

An active weather pattern will remain in place through the weekend. Multiple rounds of thunderstorms will move through central and southeastern IL, bringing a damaging wind and heavy rain threat with them. Stay up to date with the latest forecasts for any changes.

11:08a - The Storm Prediction Center says there is a 60% of a watch being issued ahead of the incoming storms. While it's not a guarantee, there is a boundary in place nearby that separates the unstable air mass to the south (80s) from the cooler, more stable air to the north.

This cluster of storms incoming may trend weaker, but as it rides this boundary it may feed on the unstable air and we could have severe storms still redevelop, particularly along the boundary zone.
