Wayne County Rescue Squad The WCRS mission is to save lives and help protect the citizens of Wayne County, to assist other departments within the county and surrounding Counties.

The Monticello / Wayne County Rescue Squad is a private non-profit organization dedicated to serving the people of the city of Monticello & Wayne County, Kentucky. We are made up of volunteers from our service area and do not charge for our services. We are supported by donations, grants, fundraisers, and a yearly contribution from the Wayne County Fiscal Court and from the City of Monticello. Aga

in, none of our members are paid, and in fact, usually purchase most of their own equipment and pay related costs in acquiring their training.

The squad is heading to the lake to attempt to train with their underwater drone. Last training was ended due to being paged out. There is no emergency. Thursday August 6.

Update!!!! He has returned home and is now in the custody of his parents. Thanks to everyone who called or messaged throughout the day.

We were called out to search for a missing juvenile in the Meadow Creek area of Wayne County! Been missing since 0630 this AM from Methodist Church Road in northern Wayne County. He was last seen wearing black jeans, Green T-Shirt, Gray Sweatshirt, black tennis shoes, and has longer dark hair (picture follows with him having short hair). If anyone sees him or knows of where he may be please contact the Wayne County Sheriff's Office or Monticello Police Department or the 911 center.

The Wayne County Rescue Squad is currently searching the area of Cooley Lane and Hwy 1275 and Hwy 90 for a missing 15 year old girl. She was involved in a car accident and was seen going through a field near the accident early this morning. Anyone who may have seen anything please contact 911. Please share and if you know anyone in the area please have them look around their properties and outbuildings.

The squad was paged tonight for a couple of kayakers whom hiked up a water fall at Lake Cumberland and became stuck on a roughly 60-70 foot bluff. The team was able to utilize rappel gear and safely extricate the 2 back down to solid ground. We want to thank everyone involved, and are happy to report there were no injuries.

The Rescue Squad is currently searching for Bruce Alexander age 81, gray hair, black tshirt, jeans. Last seen on foot at Tanglewood Lane and Old Hwy 90 and hour and a half ago. If you have any information please contact 911.

Busy week for the rescue squad so far:

Saturday 6-20-26 - Paged out by 911 for subjects lost in the woods and stuck off Jonesville Cemetery Road. Subjects found and brought out of the woods uninjured.

Wednesday 6-24-26 - Paged by 911 for a jet ski accident near Mystic View. One victim later airlifted to Lexington.

Thursday 6-25-26 - While training at Carters Dock ramp with the new underwater drone, squad was paged by 911 for a victim over an embankment near Mountain View Baptist Camp. Subject was uninjured.
