Sheriff Tim Catron and staff would like to welcome Rudy Branscum as the newest Court Security Officer. Rudy will complete a two week basic training course at the Dept of Criminal Justice Training in Richmond Ky.

Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron reports the following arrest.

Gerald Crabtree of Monticello, KY. was arrested for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, reckless driving, and failure to produce insurance card.

Crabtree was lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.

Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron reports the following arrests.

Derrick Ward of Monticello, KY. was arrested on a Wayne County District Court Complaint Warrant of Arrest for assault-3rd degree (on a healthcare provider), intimidating a participant in the legal process, terroristic threatening-3rd degree, and disorderly conduct-2nd degree.

Maurice T. Napier of Monticello, KY. was arrested for alcohol intoxication in a public place.

Chad E. Sexton of Monticello, KY. was arrested on a Wayne County Circuit Court Indictment Warrant of Arrest for burglary-3rd degree.

Ward and Napier were lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center. Sexton was released from custody after posting a Bond.

According to Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron a Monticello, KY. man has been arrested on multiple charges including assaulting law enforcement.

On June 3, 2026, at approximately 2:35 pm, were attempting to serve a Court Order on the man at his residence located on Auction Street. Deputies James Barnett, Joe Horne, Sheriff Catron with the assistance of Monticello Police Officer Jake Thomas negotiated with the man for several minutes to have him exit his residence. After negotiations failed with the man force had to use to make entry. After law enforcement made entry into the residence the man continued to resisted arrest and was physically taking under control and placed under arrest at approximately 3:08 pm.

Do the manโ€™s irate state of mind he was taken to the Wayne County Hospital for a medical clearance. After receiving the medical clearance Deputy Barnett transported and lodged Richard Price of Monticello, KY. in the Wayne County Detention Center on the charges of 2 counts of assault-3rd degree-on Police Officer, resisting arrest, menacing, obstructing a governmental operation, disorderly conduct-2nd degree, and criminal mischief-2nd degree.

Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron reports the following arrests.

Anthony Rigney of Monticello, KY. was arrested on a Wayne County Circuit Court Warrant of Arrest for Probation Violation on the underlying charges of trafficking in a controlled substance-1st degree, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Justin Muse of Monticello, KY. was arrested on a Wayne County District Court Complaint Warrant of Arrest for terroristic threatening-3rd degree.

Hartman Godsey of Monticello, KY. was arrested on a Wayne County District Court Warrant of Arrest for failure to appear for a Pre-Trial Conference on the underlying charge of theft by unlawful taking or disposition.

Samantah Vaughn of Monticello, KY. was arrested on a Wayne County District Court Warrant of Arrest for failure to pay or show cause on the underlying charge of failure to have license in possession.

Rigney and Muse were lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center. Godsey and Vaughn were released from custody after posting a Bond.

William Bertram of Monticello, KY. was arrested on a Wayne County District Court Warrant of Arrest for failure to appear for a Pre-Trial Conference on the underlying charge of assault-4th degree.

Millie J. Criswell of Monticello, KY. was arrested on a Wayne County District Court Warrant of Arrest for failure to appear for a Pre-Trial Conference on the underlying charge of theft by unlawful taking or disposition-shoplifting.

Bertram and Criswell were released from custody after posting a Bond.

Daniel Biddle of Monticello, KY. was arrested on a Wayne County Circuit Court Commitment Order of Arrest.

Biddle was lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.

According to Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron a shoplifter complaint at the Dollar General Store on East KY. Highway 92 has resulted in a Wayne County man being arrest for drug possession.

On May 27, 2026, Wayne County Sheriff Office Deputy Brad Tucker was dispatched to the store for the shoplifter complaint at approximately 6:15 pm. Upon Deputy Tucker arriving he learned that the male suspect had walked outside then reentered the store and was now located in the rear of the store. When Deputy Tucker located the suspect he admitted to the taking of some Gorilla Glue and when going outside he placed it on his motorcycle. While doing a search of the suspect Deputy Tucker located a small bag of a crystal substance known to be methamphetamine.

Store employees chose not to press the shoplifting charge and to just wanted him trespassed from the store.

Deputy Tucker then charged and arrested Brian Day of Monticello, KY. for possession of a controlled substance-1st degree (methamphetamine). Day was lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.

John Bertram of Monticello, KY. was arrested for alcohol intoxication in a public place, disorderly conduct-2nd degree, and menacing.

Larry L. Briles of Monticello, KY. was arrested on a Fayette County District Court Complaint Warrant of Arrest for knowingly abuse/neglect of an adult by person.

Bertram and Briles were lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.
