The Food Garden Project at The Monticello Help Center The Food Garden Project at The Monticello Help Center The garden is a space for the community to volunteer, view and enjoy! to the garden.

On May 14th, 2011, the landscape of the Monticello Help Center and DMV was transformed and revitalized into a local volunteer community garden. All produce grown in the garden will be donated directly to the Food Shelf. Planting in the garden began at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 14th, 2011, on the site of the Help Center. If you'd like to help, there's no need to RSVP, just bring your gardening glov

es and tools! You are also more than welcome to donate seeds, seedlings/plants, plants, herbs, etc. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn about gardening, give back to the foodshelf for those families in need with fresh veggies/herbs/fruit, and get to know your fellow Monticello residents. Just leave a message on this page. After the garden is in place, a group of local volunteers has committed to managing and maintaining the garden, but all are welcome to help as time allows through the growing season. Monticello's garden is just one event happening in conjunction with the 350 Home & Garden Challenge.
