Drew Central Elementary is proud to celebrate one of our very own, Mrs. Melanie Brotherton, for representing Pirate Nation at the Arkansas Joint Education Committee meeting!
Mrs. Brotherton recently sat on a panel alongside Jacob Oliva, Secretary of the Arkansas Department of Education, as part of a presentation highlighting the Arkansas Excellence in Teaching Fellowship Program.
This prestigious program recognizes some of Arkansas’s outstanding educators and provides opportunities for professional learning, collaboration, and public advocacy for the teaching profession. Mrs. Brotherton joined fellow educators from across the state to discuss the impact of the program, literacy standards, and developments related to the LEARNS Act.
We are incredibly proud of Mrs. Brotherton for sharing her expertise and passion for education on such an important stage. Thank you for representing Drew Central Elementary, our students, and our community so well!
