✨ EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT ✨

Hey y’all! 🫶🏼 I’m Emily! I work a few weekends a month here at Simply Sweet! When I’m not at the club, you can usually find me at my 9-5 or working on my small business, Muddy South Co. 🤍 I love all things Simply Sweet and especially love getting to see and catch up with all of our amazing customers! 🥰 There’s nothing better than seeing familiar faces and getting to meet new ones! My favorite tea is peach cheesecake and fav shake is funfetti 🥤💕

It's the perfect time to get your home ready for fall. Clean gutters, check heating systems, seal windows, and inspect smoke detectors before colder weather arrives. A little maintenance now can help prevent bigger issues later.

ATTENTION ARM/OAKVALE AREA:

Tomorrow, Tuesday, Sept. 1, the MS Rating Bureau will be in the county to grade your area for a possible significant insurance rating decrease for most homeowners south of East St. Stephens Road, east of HWY 43A to Arm Road, west of the Pearl River south of Arm Road to the Jeff Davis county line to our east and the Marion County line to our south (with some exceptions. Note, also: your particular possible homeowner’s insurance rate decrease will depend on your particular insurance company. Realizing the best reduction may very well involve your shopping around). A pivotal part of this grading is the water shuttle evolution, which the LCFD will be conducting around 10am (again, tomorrow—Tuesday—morning). This evolution will involve MULTIPLE LCFD fire apparatuses from several areas of the county, all of which will be utilizing their emergency warning lights. These apparatuses will be on HWY 43, JW Jones Road, River Road, and Downtown Oakvale. 4th Avenue at 4th Street and at HWY 43 will be closed during the operation.

We ask of the community the following:

1. Please spread the word within the community so no one is unnecessarily alarmed.

2. If you are traveling in the area and encounter one of our fire apparatuses approaching, please immediately yield. Time is of the essence and it is imperative LCFD apparatuses aren’t delayed.

3. Be particularly cautious at the River Road/HWY 43, White Sand Creek/HWY 43 vicinity, JW Jones/HWY 43 and 4th Avenue/HWY 43 areas. Apparatuses will be utilizing the above ground water tanks at these locations and/or turning into/out of the operation site. Of course, this could entail slowly moving apparatuses as they turn in/exit from these sites.

4. While the water tank locations should never be blocked, if from the time you read this message through tomorrow (Tuesday), if you notice any of these locations are blocked, please notify the Sheriff’s office (non-emergency line). Any vehicles (or anything else) blocking these locations will be towed.

This operation is a county FD effort made possible, in large part, by the LCFDs automatic structure fire protocol implemented almost 15 years ago, and by the efforts of the firefighters at LCFD Stations 6 (Oakvale) and 9 (Arm), with assistance from Stations 1 (Monticello) and 5 (Silver Creek).
