🎃👻 Halloween is almost here! 👻🎃

Halloween is a time for costumes, candy, and fun with family and friends! As you head out for trick-or-treating and fall festivities, take a few simple steps to help keep everyone safe.

🧡 Halloween Safety Tips:

Keep kids safe: Use flashlights or glow sticks, wear bright or reflective clothing, and stay with your group.

Drive with caution: Slow down, watch for children crossing streets, and stay alert for increased pedestrian traffic.

Use safe decorations: Keep candles and decorations away from flammable materials. Choose battery-operated lights whenever possible.

Check your treats: Make sure candy and treats are sealed and free from signs of tampering. When in doubt, throw it out!

Have a plan: Know your route, establish a meeting place, and make sure children know how to contact a trusted adult.

Keep pets safe: Keep pets indoors and away from crowds, costumes, and loud noises.

A little preparation goes a long way toward making Halloween enjoyable for everyone. Let’s work together to make this a safe and happy Halloween throughout Jefferson County!

🍂 FALL SAFETY REMINDER FROM JEFFERSON COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT! 🍁

Fall is here, bringing hunting season and plenty of opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors! Whether you're hunting, fishing, hiking, riding ATVs, camping, or attending fall festivals, taking a few extra precautions can help keep you and your family safe.

🦌 Hunting Safety:
✅ Wear blaze orange so you are visible to others.
✅ Follow all hunting laws and regulations.
✅ Handle fi****ms safely and always keep them pointed in a safe direction.
✅ Be aware of other hunters, hikers, and your surroundings.

🌦️ Fall Activity Safety:
✅ Prepare for changing weather and cooler temperatures.
✅ Stay hydrated and dress in layers.
✅ Watch for wildlife, especially while driving at dawn and dusk.
✅ Let someone know where you are going and when you expect to return.
✅ Carry a first aid kit and emergency supplies.

As you enjoy everything fall has to offer, remember that a little preparation goes a long way toward preventing accidents and keeping our community safe!
