Celebrate July 4th Monticello Style! Don’t miss it! Bring the entire family for a memorable evening celebrating our country’s 250th Birthday!
Top Questions for 7/4 Fireworks event:

1. What time does event start? Parking and gates open at 5 PM, Presentation of Colors, Reading of the Declaration of Independence, Grand Ole’ Flag Monologue, Live Music from 6:30-8:30- Fireworks at 9:15 PM (weather permitting)

2. Will there be food? Yes! American Legion will have hotdogs, burgers, drinks, and general concession items. Johnstons will be serving BBQ sandwiches, grilled corn and more! Mia’s Arctic Ice Cream and Kona Ice Will be serving ice cold treats

3. What not to bring- coolers, fireworks, tents, fi****ms, alcohol!

4. Bring folding chairs, blankets to sit on the grass! The bleachers will be available in the stadium.

5. How can we escape the heat? It will be hot! We will have the misting trailer and misting fans along with tents for shade.

6. What if it rains? We cannot control Mother Nature and we plan to have event rain or shine. Rain may delay the fireworks display but we are crossing our fingers that everything will go on as planned!

7. Where can we park? Park near the stadium - There will be law enforcement and volunteers directing parking!

Currently working a structure fire off Rabon rd. Also sent crews and engines to Gentry road for another structure fire.
At 2:30 Friday afternoon we responded to a structure fire on Doke Rd. Upon arrival we confirmed no one was inside the home and began extinguishing the fire. Lloyd, Monticello, and Wacissa VFD’s responded and joined the operation which continued until 6:30.
Another structure fire was reported on Gentry Road so an engine, tanker, and brush truck responded from Doke Rd and extinguished that fire.
We appreciate the team effort and cooperation among all involved. We are grateful for our professional volunteer firefighters.
