Join us this Wednesday, October 22, at 1 p.m. for the next Peer Networking Event on Stakeholder Legislative Goals.

The CCB's hope is to learn what attendees hope to accomplish in the coming legislative session, to find areas of consensus, and to identify challenges early so that ideas can be as well developed as possible if suggested for legislative attention.

Feel free to join with your own ideas. Staff have compiled a list of areas of general interest, including:
- Event permits
- Site permits
- Consumption issues
- Co-op models and direct sales

Are you employed in Vermont's cannabis industry? If so, please consider completing the CCB's Cannabis Industry Employment Survey.

The feedback will help inform the Board on the shape of the market as it relates to jobs and careers in the industry -- an essential part of understanding the overall health of the marketplace.

CCB Staff have been made aware of scams targeting cannabis businesses in Vermont.

Scammers posing as utility companies place phone calls, often knowing key account details as well as the fact that the business is cannabis-related. Some reports have said the phone calls also spoof a local number. The callers then demand payment under threat of the power being shut off. One report detailed that the caller specifically mentioned a cannabis fee for power.

This is just one of other scams that the CCB has learned of. We urge all licensees to use extreme caution when accepting calls from a supposed utility company or any company seeking payment.

The Vermont Attorney General’s website has many resources about scam recognition and prevention, as well as a form for reporting scams.

CCB staff would like to offer these reminders about the use of pesticides in cannabis cultivation:

Cultivators must be aware of the CCB’s Pesticide Use Guidance and specifically should pay close attention to the list of approved active ingredients on pages 3 & 4. (Link in bio)

Cultivators may only use products with an active ingredient on the list. Always check product labels carefully as their active ingredients may have changed.

Certified organic or OMRI-listed does not mean a product is automatically compliant and safe to use on cannabis. There are a variety of organic pesticides that contain prohibited active ingredients.

Just because an active ingredient has an action limit, does not mean it should be applied. Action limits are often set to account only for agricultural drift from neighboring properties in outdoor cultivation.

Please reach out to the compliance team at [email protected] if you have any questions about pesticide use.
