After the Plainfield Homecoming Parade and eating great food at the Taste of Montpelier had a chance to relax and enjoy the inspiring art at the Kent Museum. Especially like the quilts by former legislative staff Roz Daniels

What is a Climate Champion Anyway?
I've been pondering that question for several weeks, ever since two organizations I respect and have supported for years, one has endorsed me for twenty years, have declared me not worthy to be " climate champion" It's an important question because it challenges my trustworthiness on one of the most important issues of our time. What is a "climate champion" anyway. For the record, I have voted for every Climate bill that has come before the Senate. I have voted for every conservation bill and toxic removal bill. I recognize that fighting Climate Change is the existential challenge of our times. Our very existence depends on finding a solution. So why aren't I a "climate champion"? I don't know. When I think of a champion, I think of someone on a white stallion with a lance chargeing out to slay the enemy. While I have had the opportunity to ride a white stallion at full gallop, and it was thrilling, it's not me. I've never been a cheerleader. I'm more of a work horse who gets up everyday and pulls the plow. While I recognize that Climate Change is literally the sky above us, I, also recognize that all the other basic human needs-`food, housing, healthcare, childcare, a good job, a clean environment, the list goes on- are the ground beneath our feet. If the ground isn't stable, then its hard to look up. If we want people to make the sacrfices necessary to reverse Climate Change, we must ensure that the ground beneath their feet is stable. I'm committed to doing both and I have the voting record to prove it. If that means I'm not a "climate champion" then I can live with it.
