Today, our Geometry students put their learning to work by applying geometric postulates to Michigan maps! Students analyzed real-world roadways and answered questions like: Which two main roads are parallel to M-57? Which roads are perpendicular?

🐏 Meet Kelly Smith...one of our newest Rams! ❤️🖤

Kelly will be teaching 5th grade at KHMS this year and will also be mentoring student teacher Ms. Carrabs.

Kelly brings an impressive educational background to Montrose, with degrees from Saginaw Valley State University, Eastern Michigan University, and Michigan State University, including a Ph.D. Her undergraduate degree is in Elementary Education with a major in Language Arts and a minor in Developmental Learning.

A few fun facts about Kelly:
🍦 Favorite food: Ice cream
🌱 She loves gardening, reading, and spending time with family
👵 Grandchildren are one of her favorite things!
🐴🐔🐶🐱 Her family has horses, chickens, dogs, and cats
❤️ She even has a Montrose connection! Her grandmother, Grace Crowe, was a teacher in Montrose when Kelly was little!

Kelly is most looking forward to meeting her students and their families and being part of the positive energy at KHMS.

We’re excited to welcome Kelly to the Ram family! 🐏❤️🖤

🐏 Meet Victoria Carrabs ... one of our newest Rams! ❤️🖤

Victoria is currently completing her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education at the University of Michigan–Flint and will graduate in December. This fall, she will be student teaching with Mrs. Smith in 5th grade.

A few fun facts about Victoria:
🍕 Favorite food: French fry pizza
📚 She loves reading a good book
✈️ She has traveled to more than 20 countries
🏰 She has worked at Walt Disney World in Florida
🐶🐱 She has a Yorkie-poo named Buddy and a cat named Milo
🍝She is half Italian!

Victoria is most looking forward to making a difference in her students’ lives and helping make school a place they love to be. She has already felt the support of the Montrose community and is excited to be part of it!
