Meet Amanda, the friendly face who stepped out from behind the kitchen door to lead the heart of Shelter Montrose!

Amanda Way’s path started in home kitchens and farmers markets, then moved through restaurants in Crested Butte and Montrose before eventually bringing her to Shelter Distilling. Along the way, she ran her own baking business, learned from everyone willing to teach, and built a deep appreciation for good food and the people behind it.

Now, as General Manager of Shelter, Amanda brings that same care into the dining room. She loves getting to know regulars, welcoming new faces, and helping create the kind of experience that keeps people coming back after a day outside.

Living and working in Montrose means quick access to the river, the trails, and the wilderness, plus strong connections to local farmers and ranchers that shape what ends up on the table. When she is not at Shelter, you will find Amanda on the water, tending her garden, traveling, or tracking down local favorite spots to eat.
