The Cortlandt Democratic Committee congratulates all of its Cortlandt Candidates -- Richard Becker, Jim Creighton, Cristin Jacoby, LaRoue Shatzkin, Debbie Carter, Kimberly Ragazzo and Livia Rodriguez -- on their election victories yesterday and thank the volunteers who made these victories possible. Most importantly, we thank the voters of the Town of Cortlandt for their trust. We will continue working on your behalf to move Cortlandt forward and make sure it continues to be a place where life works.

Hello all,

Choice Matters is the oldest, ongoing pro-choice advocacy organization in the nation. They do A LOT of stuff, including getting pro-choice candidates elected, and making sure anti-choice candidates don't.

Please sign on to this letter calling upon Governor Hochul to sign into law the following bills, all of which have PASSED the Senate and Assembly. Brief descriptions follow and additional details are included in the letter.

Please share with your New York friends, family, and social networks. We know the MAGA agenda will not stop until reproductive rights are obliterated. Please let your voice be heard loud and clear - the Governor must sign these bills into law immediately.

Hospital Transparency Act - Requires hospitals to publish what services they will provide so it is known before one seeks admission; for example, women experiencing a miscarriage need to know if they will be treated.

Health Information Privacy Act - Ensures a patient's electronic health data is kept private; out of state law enforcement is not allowed to use information to prosecute a woman from having an abortion.

Shield Law - Protects healthcare providers and patients from legal action by states outside of New York; doctors providing abortion care to patients who travel to NY for healthcare services and patients would be legally protected from prosecution.

Choice Matters is asking individuals and organizations/institutions to sign on to the letter below imploring NYS Governor Hochul to sign into law the Hospital Transparency Act (S.3486/A.3862), Health Information Privacy Act (S.929/A.2141), and Shield Law 2.0 (S.4914-B/A.5480-C).
