Explore the Montrose Healthcare Career Fair, September 23
by Taylor Evans
(published in the Montrose Daily Press, 8/26/26)

Calling all employers and job seekers in Montrose! The Montrose Regional Library, Colorado Mesa University: Montrose, and the Workforce Colorado Rural Alliance (Colorado Workforce Centers in Montrose & Delta) are collaborating on a career fair on Wednesday, September 23 at 10am – 1pm on the CMU Montrose Campus (Cascade Plaza located at the intersection of South Cascade & 3rd Street). The Montrose Healthcare Career Fair will focus on healthcare professions in Montrose and Delta. This career fair has been timed to encourage attendance from CMU students. However, all job seekers, high school students, and those seeking employment in healthcare, are encouraged to join this career fair.

The event is strategically scheduled to maximize employer reach by holding hours to capture students as they transition between classes. This career fair is being marketed widely to job seekers throughout Montrose, so employers can meet local candidates of all skill sets and backgrounds. Employers must register for the career fair through the Colorado Workforce Center in Montrose by Wednesday, September 16. Please contact the Colorado Workforce Center at (970) 249-7783 or [email protected] to register. Employers will be treated to a complimentary lunch, and can give away free swag at their tables.

A number of prominent employers (including Cedar Point Health, Delta Health, Montrose Regional Health, Peak Family Medicine, HopeWest, and more) have already registered for this career fair. Job seekers do not need to register for this event. Everyone is welcome to join the career fair, to explore local job opportunities! If you would like to prepare for this career fair ahead of time, the Montrose Regional Library and the Colorado Workforce Center in Montrose or Delta are both well equipped to help you.

Stop by the Montrose Regional Library and use one of our computers to print out resumes and cover letters. You could schedule an hour long Book-A-Librarian session, with one of our librarians, for job searching and resume assistance. The library’s A-to-Z database is a premier job search, reference, and mailing list database that can be accessed for free with a Montrose Regional Library card. That database provides useful information for job seekers and employers. Apart from small printing fees, all of the library’s services are free.

Workforce Colorado provides a wide variety of free services to help connect you to the best jobs out there, and navigate events like this job fair. Services include providing computer and internet access for job-search activities, resume preparation, interview practice, job search strategies, career counseling, training opportunities and more. Visit the Colorado Workforce Center in either Montrose or Delta for expert, personalized support and guidance.

Colorado Mesa University provides a number of career services to their students and alumni, including career exploration, mock interviews, help with resumes and cover letters, and more. The Montrose Campus offers 15 programs for students seeking associate and bachelor degrees, including: 1) Medical Assistant, 2) Nursing, AAS (Associate of Applied Science), 3) Nursing, LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse), and 4) Nursing, LPN-BSN (Licensed Practical Nurse to Bachelor of Science in Nursing). CMU’s Practical Nursing (PN) program has been recognized as the #1 program in the nation for the 2023-2024 and 2025-2026 academic years, based on the number of candidates who successfully passed the State Board examination for LPN Licensure.

The Montrose Regional Library, Colorado Mesa University: Montrose, and the Colorado Workforce Centers in Montrose & Delta are looking forward to seeing you at the Montrose Healthcare Career Fair. This will be a great opportunity for job seekers and employers to connect. We hope to see you at the CMU Cascade Ave Plaza on September 23!
