⛵🇧🇸 Sea Base Day 2 🇧🇸⛵

Today brought another incredible day in the Bahamas!

The crew spent the morning snorkeling at Mermaid’s Reef, surrounded by countless fish, sea turtles, and even lobsters. With crystal-clear water and vibrant marine life in every direction, it was an unforgettable experience beneath the surface.

After lunch on deck, the crew had time to explore Hope Town, visit the famous lighthouse—the last operational lighthouse in the world lit by a kerosene lantern—walk through town, enjoy some ice cream, and relax at the beach before returning to the boat for dinner.

From coral reefs to historic landmarks, the day was filled with opportunities to learn, explore, and experience the beauty of the Bahamas.

⛵🇧🇸 Sea Base Day 1 Recap 🇧🇸⛵

What a way to start the adventure!

Today, our crew snorkeled crystal-clear reefs that are rarely accessible, including the incredible waters around Fowl Cay National Park. After a morning of exploring beneath the surface, the cooking crew prepared lunch while everyone enjoyed sandwiches on deck.

Life aboard the sailboat is all about teamwork. The Scouts are divided into three rotating crews: cooking, cleanup, and deck crew. Today, deck crew members learned valuable sailing skills, including how to raise the sails and work the anchors.

Last night, everyone slept under the stars on deck, and tonight the crew is anchored near Man-O-War Cay. The afternoon was spent at Low Point Beach snorkeling, swimming, and playing football before gathering together for a beach dinner of grilled pork chops prepared by the cooking crew.

Adventure, teamwork, service, and memories that will last a lifetime. Sea Base 2026 is off to an amazing start!

⚓🇧🇸 The adventure is officially underway!

After arriving safely in the Bahamas, our crew met their captain, boarded their sailboat, completed orientation, and set sail for an unforgettable Sea Base adventure.

Over the next several days, they’ll explore the beautiful waters of the Abacos, snorkel coral reefs, visit remote islands, learn valuable sailing skills, and grow as a team through this incredible high-adventure experience. From raising sails to sharing responsibilities onboard, every Scout will play an important role as part of the crew.

We’re excited to follow their journey and can’t wait to hear the stories they’ll bring home.

⚜️ Anchors aweigh! ⚓🌊

Today, our Troop begins an unforgettable journey to the beautiful Bahamas as they embark on their Florida Sea Base High Adventure!

Over the next several days, these Scouts and leaders will trade their everyday routines for life on the water, sailing through the crystal-clear waters of the Abacos, snorkeling vibrant coral reefs, exploring remote cays, fishing, swimming, and learning valuable seamanship and teamwork skills along the way. Their adventure will take them to incredible places like Green Turtle Cay, Hopetown, and Little Harbour while challenging them to grow in confidence, leadership, and resilience.

Sea Base is more than just a trip. It’s an opportunity to experience the outdoors in a whole new way, strengthen friendships, and create memories that will last a lifetime.

Please join us in wishing them safe travels, favorable weather, calm seas, and an amazing experience for every member of our crew. We can’t wait to follow along and hear the stories from their adventure!

Today, we pause to honor all who have served in the United States Armed Forces. Your courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to protecting our freedoms inspire us every day.

As Scouts, we are reminded through the Scout Oath and Law of our duty to country and our responsibility to live with integrity, bravery, and service; values exemplified by our nation’s veterans.

To all the veterans in our troop families and community—thank you. Your legacy of service continues to guide the next generation of leaders.

May we never take for granted the freedom you fought to preserve. May we honor your legacy not just in words, but in how we live each day—with honor, respect, and service to others.

Tonight our Scouts stepped up in a big way! They prepared 19 trays of spaghetti, along with bread and drinks to help feed those being sheltered at Matthew's Hope, Orange County during the cold snap here in Central Florida.

As temperatures drop, Matthew’s Hope has opened its doors as a Cold Weather Shelter, providing warmth, meals, and a safe place for hundreds of men, women, and children who would otherwise be out in the cold. You can read more about their incredible efforts in the comments below!

⚜️ Scouting is about being prepared and serving others—and this act of service showed exactly that. Our Scouts didn’t just cook dinner; they shared kindness, hope, and comfort with those who need it most.

Let’s keep the spirit of Scouting alive! Do a good turn daily and help keep our community warm this week. 💚💛

What an incredible show of generosity from our community! Together, Troop 786, Troop 4089 and Pack 3786 collected 2️⃣,2️⃣8️⃣6️⃣ pounds of non-perishable food through this year’s drive! 🥫

All donations have been delivered to New Beginnings Clermont Thrift Store,where they’ll help support local families in need.

A huge thank you to everyone who filled a bag, shared a can, or helped spread the word. Your kindness makes a difference. And kudos to our Scouts for their hard work collecting, sorting, and serving with cheerful hearts.

Let’s keep the spirit of service going! Remember to “Do a Good Turn Daily.” 🌟

Today Troop 786 was proud to lead the flag ceremony in celebration of Montverde Day! It was an honor to represent Scouting and our community during such a historic milestone for our hometown.
