McLennan County has been placed under a Tornado Watch until 1:00AM. Strong storms are approaching from the north and are currently in Hill County. Please stay weather aware.

A Tornado Watch means conditions are favorable for tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible warnings.

This evening, Moody VFD had the honor of hosting the monthly McLennan County Fire meeting. This gathering brings together first responders from across McLennan County to collaborate and discuss ways to better serve our community.

We would also like to extend a sincere thank you to Can-Do Pizza & Wings LLC for generously providing the meal for everyone in attendance.

This afternoon your Moody VFD responded to the burn pile on Ave C. Due to weather and material contained within the fire will continue to produce smoke and smolder. We will continue to monitor the area.

Moody Fire would like to provide an update on the fire at Avenue C. The fire is out and contained, with no threat to surrounding properties. Due to the type of fire, there will continue to be smoke in the area. We will be monitoring the situation.

Early this morning your Moody VFD responded to Ave C for a large brush pile on fire. Inside the fire contained dishwashers, shingles, wood, tires along with others items. We want to thank McGregor Volunteer Fire Department and Bruceville-Eddy Vol. Fire & Rescue for their assistance with water and man power.

Your Moody VFD had a very busy afternoon,

We initially had reports of a grassfire on Porter road and while responding got notification of a structure fire on 2nd Street.

Both fires are under control and out at this time.

We want to take a moment and thank Bruceville-Eddy Vol. Fire & Rescue and McGregor Volunteer Fire Department assisting us with both of these calls simultaneously. We are very grateful for your help!
