We wanted to share an update regarding motorized boat rentals and our dock system at Keyhole Marina.
After careful consideration, we made the difficult decision not to offer motorized boat rentals for the remainder of the 2026 season. We did have a small number of reservations booked before the season began, but as water levels continued to drop, we chose not to accept any additional reservations. This decision was made with the safety of our customers as our top priority.
Our rental agreement requires renters to be responsible for any damage that occurs during their rental time. With the current low water conditions, the risk of striking submerged hazards and causing costly damage to props or motors has increased significantly. Rather than put our customers in that position, we felt it was best to pause rentals for the season.
If you’ve visited the marina recently, you’ve likely noticed that our dock system is much smaller than in previous years. Unfortunately, our docks sustained extensive wind damage, and rebuilding has taken longer than anticipated due to the challenging weather conditions we experienced early this season.
We sincerely apologize for the limited dock space available and appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as we continue making improvements. We are incredibly grateful for the continued support of our customers and visitors. We look forward to serving you throughout the rest of this season and are already working toward an even better experience in 2027.
