One word to describe our Tiny Tots Tuesday Storytime🤔… PLEASANT!!! ❤️

Our favorite part of Storytime is the first 15 minutes… Meet & Greet! 🥰 Tuesday, we had a bunch of newbies join us, and they fit right in like they had been attending forever. That’s what we LOVE to see… watching our “oldies” welcome our newbies with hugs, holding hands, and making sure everyone feels like they belong. 🥹❤️ Now, that’s the real definition of community. ❤️📚

📚 Miss Ani read “Dinky the Tinysaur”, a story about two siblings who wanted a tiny dinosaur but they wanted it to stay tiny FOREVER! 🦖 They found the perfect little dinosaur, named Dinky, and everything was great until Dinky started GROWING and causing all kinds of problems. 😳 The twins got upset, Dinky ran away, and before long they started missing their Dinky. What do you think happened next? 👀🦖❤️

Then Ms. Iris told us that dinosaurs eat apples. 🙄🍎🦖

We have absolutely NO IDEA where she got that information from, but we just went along with it! 😂 Then, Mrs. Sherelle gave us a bunch of little red squares and some glue, and before we knew it, right in front of us were the biggest, most perfect, red, juicy apples! 🍎❤️ So, do dinosaurs really eat apples?…Or, did she make that up because she really liked the book and really wanted to do the apple craft? 🤔😂🦖🍎

Anyways, another Apple-licious Dino-Mite Tuesday of reading, creating, mingling, and simply enjoying each other.

👋🏽 Welcome Back, TINY TOTS!!! and Welcome, NEW FRIENDS!!! ❤️

Our tiny friends came “BUS”sing through the doors 🚌greeting each other with hugs and smiles. Cutest thing, EVER! 🥹❤️

We started our day off with coloring school buses and then we played 4 rounds of “Happy Shapes Bingo” Congratulations to our winners: Jentry, Della, Grant, and Hollyn!!! 🏆

📚 Poor Miss Ani😅 She tried to bring us all together for a good read, Time for School, Little Blue Truck! 🚌💙 BUT, what were she thinking… a bunch of toddlers, fresh from vacation???!!! Better luck next week, Miss Ani😅😅😅

Then it was time to get our little hands BUSY! ✂️🖍️ Now, that’s a way to slow us down; because we totally dislike messy hands 😂😬 But, on the brighter side, we filled the bus compound with our very own personalized school buses! 🚌. Now, this was absolutely FUN!!! 🥹❤️. We can’t wait to see what those “EXTRA” library ladies have up there sleeves next week😉

To receive the 2026 SWFLN “Heart❤️ of the Library” Award is truly an honor. I simply try to serve with passion, create opportunities, love on my community, and make our library a place where EVERYONE feels welcomed, valued, and like they belong. ❤️📚

What made this moment even more special was the support that showed up. 🥹🫶🏽

My friends at SWFLN, Amy and Melissa; Mrs. Linda Waters (Director of the DeSoto Library); Jeannie Palacios (Chairperson of the Heartland Library Cooperative); Vikki Brown, (former President of Heartland Library Cooperative); and my right hand, Ani Drayton (my Assistant). To see each one of you there, knowing you drove nearly two hours just to show up and support me, meant EVERYTHING!!!❤️

And to my community and partners, THANK YOU for every testimonial, every kind word, every message, and all of the positive feedback that was sent in. Your support means more than you know. ❤️

🎓❤️ Our “Off-To-Big-School” Storytime Celebration was OVER THE TOP! ❤️🎓

From our special walk-through and proud smiles to the happy tears and heartfelt moments, every detail made this day one we’ll never forget. And to top it all off… our signature red theme brought everything together perfectly. ❤️

Today wasn’t just about celebrating our Tiny Tots, it was about celebrating the incredible village that helped them reach this milestone.

Our biggest VIPs were our amazing moms and grandmothers. ❤️ Thank you for your dedication, commitment, and for allowing us to be part of your little one’s journey. Watching these children learn, laugh, grow, and prepare for Big School has truly been one of our greatest joys.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to Mr. Jason Griner, Ahern's, for sponsoring our celebration. Your continued support helps us create meaningful experiences and memories that our library families will cherish for years to come. We are sincerely grateful for your generosity.

To my incredible team… thank you from the bottom of my heart.

💜 In the words of Greyson… “This is the BEST day ever!!!” 💜

What a way to wrap up our Dino-Mite Summer and kick off a brand-new school year!

Today was filled with laughter, splashes, full bellies, happy hearts, and unforgettable memories. Families gathered under the shade of the trees, children raced down the water slide, friendships were made, and our overachievers were recognized for all of their hard work this summer.

Once again, A HUMONGOUS shoutout to the Glades Education Foundation for making this incredible celebration possible. Your unwavering commitment to supporting education and investing in the children of Glades County allows us to create meaningful experiences that encourage learning, celebrate achievement, and bring our community together. We are sincerely grateful for your partnership and continued support.

We’re also incredibly thankful to Sgt. Stacie Murray and her sweet daughter, Delilah, for volunteering their time to grill hot dogs and serve our families with such kindness and joy. And a special thank you to Paige Langdale for generously lending the water slide that kept our Tiny Tots smiling, splashing, and making memories all morning long. Your generosity and willingness to support our community are truly appreciated.

💦 Between the giant splashes and all the excitement, staying dry was never an option! We all had tons of fun! Every splash was worth it just to see the excitement, laughter, and smiles on their faces.

Today wasn’t just about water slides and hot dogs. It was about celebrating our children, recognizing their accomplishments, strengthening community partnerships, and reminding every child that they are surrounded by people who believe in them and are cheering them on.

We wish all of our students a safe, successful, and exciting school year. Remember, your Glades County Public Library family will ALWAYS🙏🏽 be here, cheering you on, supporting, and celebrating you every step of the way. 💜📚🎉💦🌭
