🌬️ WIND ADVISORY: BURN PERMITS SUSPENDED 🌬️
Attention Fergus County residents:

Due to forecasted high winds, all burn permits in Fergus County are suspended effective immediately for the next few days. Please refrain from any outdoor burning until conditions improve and permits are reactivated.

Check Your Past Burn Piles:
If you have burned recently, please revisit those sites today. Many of the early-season wildfires in Montana this year have been caused by high winds rekindling old, dormant burn piles.

Stir the ashes: Ensure there is no heat deep within the pile.

Apply water: If it’s warm to the touch, it isn’t out.

Check the perimeter: Look for any "creeping" fire in the nearby grass or brush.

Let’s work together to keep our community safe and prevent human-caused wildfires.
