NOTICE that the Town of Moorefield Council will hold two (2) public hearings on September 3, 2019; the hearings will be held at 3:00PM and 6:00PM at Moorefield Town Hall, 206 Wi******er Avenue, Moorefield, WV 26836. The public is invited to attend and submit comments on the proposed Moorefield Zoning Ordinance. Copies of the proposed zoning ordinance, including maps, will be available for review prior to the public hearings during normal business hours at the Moorefield Town Hall or at the Hardy County Public Library, 102 North Main Street, Moorefield, WV 26836. The proposed zoning ordinance divides land in Moorefield into zoning districts, which specify permitted and conditional uses as well as development standards for real property within the zoning districts. The proposed zoning ordinance also creates a board of zoning appeals, adopts procedures and requirements for nonconforming land uses, variances, and conditional use permits; and specifies certification requirements for the zoning district map that is consistent with the Moorefield Comprehensive Plan. Members of the public can call Town Hall at 304.530.6142 during normal business hours if they are unable to review the zoning ordinance. Written comments and objections to the proposed zoning ordinance, prior to the hearings, may be made and will be heard at the public hearings and must be filed with the Moorefield Town Clerk at Town Hall, 206 Wi******er Avenue, Moorefield, WV 26836.

At the August 20th Planning Commission Meeting I gave my letter of resignation from the Town Planning Commission. I enjoyed my stay with the Commissions but after years of being involved with the Town and County it's time.

The Moorefield Planning Commission has begun to update the Towns Zoning ordinance I will be posting in the next few weeks the next meeting date.

The Moorefield Planning Commission will be meeting on August 21, 2017 instead of our regularly scheduled meeting date of August 28 to accommodate our liaison with the WVU Land Use & Sustainable Development Law Clinic. We are continuing our rework of the Zoning Ordinance for Moorefield and although painstakingly slow, we have made great progress.
