Did you know reading 20 minutes a day boosts cognitive function, academic performance, and lowers stress and anxiety?
Around 20% of reading gains (equivalent to 6 weeks of classroom learning) are lost during the summer without reading. Our teachers are dedicated to pushing reading improvements in ALL subjects!

So have the kids head to the local library and make reading fun this summer!!

Leadership matters, but relationships matter even more.

Coach Stevens has already invested the past three years into Mooreland students, athletes, and our community. As he steps into this new role, we are excited to see his vision for developing young men both on and off the field continue to grow.

One of the things we value most at Mooreland is having educators and coaches who genuinely care about our students and understand the impact they can have beyond the classroom and competition. Coach Stevens embodies that commitment every day.

Please join us in congratulating Coach Stevens on this new opportunity. We are excited for the future of Bearcat Football and the positive impact he will continue to make on our students, athletes, and community.

We’re proud to officially welcome Mr. Richard Kirksey as the new Elementary Principal at Mooreland Public Schools.

As he enters his fourth year at Mooreland, Mr. Kirksey is excited to continue investing in our younger Bearcats and helping build a strong foundation for both academics and life.

What Mr. Kirksey loves most about Mooreland Schools is our students and the potential he sees in each of them. He shared that it has been incredibly rewarding to help encourage and develop students as they grow into confident young people ready to take on the world.

Outside of school, Mr. Kirksey enjoys traveling, trying new foods, learning about new subjects, and making memories with his family. Whether taking on a new adventure or laughing together after a dinner experiment doesn’t quite go as planned, he says those moments are what matter most.

We are proud to have Mr. Kirksey leading Mooreland Elementary and look forward to the future under his leadership. At Mooreland Public Schools, we believe great schools are built by great people, and we are excited to continue celebrating the individuals who make Mooreland such a special place.
