Last Thursday, members of the Moorestown Police Department traveled to the Farmington Polo Club in Farmington, Connecticut, to particiapte in the Hometown Foundation - 2026 Dream Ride Experience and Police K-9 Expo and Challenge.
The Dream Ride Experience is a truly special event that celebrates the accomplishments of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, known as Dream Riders, while promoting inclusion, acceptance, and community.
Lt. Weist and Lt. Rulli had the privilege of participating in the Dream Cruise, where they were paired with Evan and his mother from Connecticut. Together, they enjoyed an approximately 18-mile cruise through the Farmington Valley in a Moorestown Police vehicle. It was an incredible opportunity to share some time with Evan and his family while being part of such a meaningful event.
Meanwhile, Cpl. Sloan and K-9 Saltz, along with Ptl. Toscani and K-9 Cyrus, represented Moorestown in the Hometown Foundation Police K-9 Expo and Challenge. The Challenge brings together K-9 teams from across the country and gives handlers and their partners an opportunity to showcase the extensive training and skills required of working police K-9s.
Of course, no trip to the Farmington Polo Club would be complete without taking some time to enjoy a polo match! 🐎
We are especially grateful to the Hometown Foundation for its continued support of the Moorestown Police Department and our K-9 Unit. The Hometown Foundation has generously donated both of our department’s K-9s, providing not only the dogs themselves, but also critical support for training and equipment. Their Police K-9 Program works with law enforcement agencies to provide K-9s, training, and equipment to help departments maintain strong and effective K-9 programs.
Thank you to the Hometown Foundation, all of the volunteers, organizers, Dream Riders, families, and fellow law enforcement agencies who made this weekend so memorable.
