Our hearts are heavy as we mourn the sudden loss of a cherished former member of our squad, Bill Davis. Words cannot express the depth of our sorrow, but know that our thoughts and prayers are with the Davis family and the entire Cherry Hill Fire Department during this difficult time. May fond memories of our fallen colleague bring comfort, and may his legacy of service and bravery continue to inspire us all. Rest in peace, dear friend.
PASSING OF EMT WILLIAM A. DAVIS, JR.
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Emergency Medical Technician William A. Davis Jr. Bill began his Cherry Hill EMS career in 1991 as a per-diem member of the Township Emergency Medical Services and continued on staff during the transition of EMS to the Fire Department in 2003. Prior to joining our department, he proudly served in the United States Marine Corps as a Lance Corporal, serving through Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm.
He was hired as a full-time EMT with the Department in 2006. Throughout his years of service, Bill received 2 Unit Citations and more than 20 Accolades from residents thanking him for his professionalism, kindness, compassion, humor, sensitivity and fast response in assisting residents with all types of medical emergencies over the years.
Bill was an integral part of our EMS career staff whose work ethic and dedication to his duties will be leaving a void in our organization, as well as one in our hearts. We mourn with, and send our deepest condolences to, his wife Yadira, and children Karina, Ashlyn, William, Jade and numerous grandchildren.
