• To attempt to prevent digital fraud through malicious links, all external links posted by any user, other than authorized Town Employees speaking on behalf of the Town and linking to the Town’s official websites and resources, shall be hidden or removed. All comments or postings shall be retained in accordance with Town policies and applicable state laws. Public comments posted on Town Social Media sites may be hidden or removed if they do not meet content-neutral comment standards. Content-neutral comment standards include notice that the site is a moderated online discussion site, and the Town reserves the right to hide or remove comments or postings that contain the following:
• Comments or postings not related to items directly within the jurisdiction or authority of the Town of Mooresville (i.e., not pertaining to items controlled by the Town, or comments related to issues under the jurisdiction or authority of other governmental entities, such as the county, state or federal government);
• External links of any kind;
• Profane language, defamatory statements, or nudity on pictures or attachments;
• Comments that target or disparage a person or group of people based on ethnicity, race, color, religion, gender, gender expression, age, national origin, physical or mental disability, marital status, sexual orientation, military status, political orientation, or any other characteristic protected by law;
• Comments or postings that defame, abuse, harass, stalk, threaten or otherwise violate the legal rights of others;
• Comments or postings that incite violence of any kind;
• Advocacy of illegal activity or activity that compromises the safety or security of the public;
• Comments or postings that include spam or advertisements;
• Infringements of copyrights, trademarks, or other intellectual property or information that is deemed proprietary information under state or federal law; and
• Endorsements of political parties, candidates, or groups. All comments or postings that are hidden or removed from Town Social Media sites shall be retained in accordance with the retention and disposition schedules issued by the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, Division of Archives and Records as adopted by the Town Board.

Children and their caregivers are invited to join us for Preschool Art on September 10 at 10 a.m. at both Library locations! Come see where art meets reading with a story and craft. Each month we will read a different picture book and create a craft based on the title.

Our storytimes are back for the fall starting September 8.

Time for Tots will be held every Monday and Tuesday at 10 a.m. at both the Main Library and the West Branch!

Time for Tots is an interactive literacy program featuring simple stories, finger plays, songs, nursery rhymes, and movement activities. This program is for children, ages 18 - 36 months old and their caregivers. Each Storytime will have age-appropriate activities to promote and extend literacy at home.

Movers & Shakers will be held every Monday and Tuesday at 11 a.m. at both the Main Library and the West Branch!

At Movers & Shakers, have fun listening to stories, singing songs, learning rhymes, and participating in movement activities that will enhance a love of books and introduce children to a world of imagination. This program is for ages 3-5 years old and their caregivers. Each Storytime will have age-appropriate activities to promote and extend literacy at home.

Children and their families are invited to join us for Inspired Art on September 5 at 11 a.m. at the Main Library.

Families can come and learn about the different continents by creating art using different mediums. This program will allow children to discover more about the world and its geography through different mediums and styles of art. Join us and create a new work of art each month. This month we will be making prints!

If you have a card already, you can celebrate with us at Fred & June's Books by saving 10% off your entire purchase during the month of September when you show them your Library card. This offer is valid at both their new location at 162 N. Main Street and their Used Books location at 248 N. Main Street in Mooresville.

If you don't have a card yet, now is the perfect time to get one! Any Iredell County resident is eligible for a free Mooresville Public Library card with proof of address. Do you have too many art & craft supplies taking up space in your craft room? Ready to look for some new materials to begin projects for the upcoming holiday season? If so, join us for an arts & crafts supply swap on Saturday, on September 5, from 2-4pm.

Patrons can drop off new or gently used art or craft supplies at the Main Library from August 31-September 4, 2026.

Early bird entry will be granted to those who bring items for the swap. Those who drop off items during the week or bring items on the day of the event will be registered to come in on Saturday, September 5, from 2-3 p.m.

Everyone else is welcome to come in and browse from 3-4 p.m. even if they did not donate items. Items not picked up during the swap may be kept or discarded by library staff.
