🔥 FRONTLINE FEATURE 🔥

This week's Frontline Feature highlights Firefighter Blaine Stanley of B-Shift.

Blaine is 30 years old and a lifelong resident of Mooresville. Alongside his wife, Audrey, and their three children, he is proud to serve the same community he calls home.

Before entering the fire service, Blaine worked in lawn care. He has now dedicated the past six years to the fire service, all of which have been spent serving the citizens of Mooresville as a firefighter on B-Shift.

When asked what he enjoys most about the job, Blaine shared that he values the opportunity to protect and serve the town he grew up in. Like many in public safety, he recognizes that one of the greatest challenges is the time spent away from family and missing important moments, including his children's sporting events.

Outside of the firehouse, Blaine enjoys golfing, watching sports, and spending quality time with his family. Around the station, one of his favorite meals is a hearty plate of chicken fettuccine alfredo.

His advice for new firefighters is simple but powerful:

💬 "If something needs done, then do it."

Thank you, Blaine, for your dedication, service, and commitment to the citizens of Mooresville. We are proud to have you as part of the Mooresville Fire Department family.

⚠️🌩️ WEATHER AWARENESS – THURSDAY EVENING 🌩️⚠️

The Mooresville area and much of central Indiana could experience strong to severe thunderstorms later this evening and overnight. Current forecasts indicate the primary threats may include:

💨 Damaging wind gusts
🌧️ Heavy rainfall and localized flooding
⚡ Frequent lightning
🌪️ Isolated tornadoes cannot be ruled out

Forecasters across the Midwest are monitoring a strong weather system capable of producing severe thunderstorms with damaging winds and isolated tornadoes as it moves east this evening.

🚨 Now is a great time to prepare:
✅ Have multiple ways to receive weather alerts overnight
✅ Charge cell phones and electronic devices
✅ Secure outdoor furniture and loose items
✅ Review your family’s severe weather plan
✅ Know where to seek shelter if warnings are issued

The Mooresville Fire Department encourages residents to stay weather aware throughout the evening and monitor updates from the National Weather Service and local media. Conditions can change quickly, and warnings may be issued with little notice.

🚒 We will continue to monitor conditions and stand ready to respond if needed. Stay safe, Mooresville!

👨‍🚒 Frontline Feature 👨‍🚒

This week’s Frontline Feature highlights Chris Mills, a dedicated member of the Mooresville Fire Department whose decades of service, leadership, and commitment to helping others continue to make a positive impact throughout our community.

Chris is 50 years old and resides in Camby, Indiana. He is married, the proud father of six children, grandfather to three grandchildren, and enjoys spending time with his family alongside their two dogs.

His fire service journey began in 1998 as a volunteer firefighter with Decatur Township in Marion County. Today, Chris has accumulated 28 years in the fire service and has proudly served with the Mooresville Fire Department for the past 10 years as a part-time firefighter. In addition to his role at MFD, Chris serves as Fire Chief of the Monroe Township Fire District and has spent 26 years working as a manager for AT&T.

When asked about his favorite part of the job, Chris shared that the most rewarding aspect is knowing his work can have a real impact on someone’s life. Whether responding to emergencies, educating the public, or simply being there when someone needs help, he finds great fulfillment in serving others.

Like many in the fire service, Chris says the biggest challenge is witnessing people on some of the worst days of their lives. However, helping them through those difficult moments is also one of the most rewarding parts of the profession.

Outside of work, Chris enjoys camping, fishing, volunteering, serving at his church, and spending time with family. His go-to firehouse meal is a classic pot of spaghetti.

Chris’s advice to new firefighters is simple but powerful: “Always stay humble and keep learning. Listen to experienced firefighters, train hard, and never become complacent. The job demands teamwork, discipline, and a commitment to improving every day.”

Thank you, Chris, for your years of dedication, leadership, and service to the citizens of Mooresville and the surrounding communities. We are proud to have you as part of the MFD family. 🚒🇺🇸

🔥 Training Never Stops – C Shift in Action 🔥

Over the last several shifts, our C Shift personnel have continued to sharpen their skills through a variety of hands-on training opportunities focused on both firefighter and civilian rescue operations.

Training topics have included:
🔍 Search Operations
🦺 Victim Rescue & Removal Techniques
🚨 Downed Firefighter Rescue
❤️‍🩹 Firefighter CPR & Emergency Intervention Procedures

These training evolutions are designed to prepare our crews for some of the most challenging situations they may encounter. Whether rescuing a trapped civilian or assisting a fellow firefighter in distress, our members are committed to being ready when the call comes.

🤝 Training has also provided valuable opportunities to work alongside our neighboring partners, including Brown Township Fire-Rescue, Madison Township Fire Department, Monroe Township Fire Department and Morgan County EMS. Working together on the training ground helps ensure seamless teamwork when we respond together on emergency scenes.

🏢 A special thank you goes out to the Northern Morgan County Training Site and Madison Township for providing facilities and resources that allow firefighters to train in realistic, hands-on environments.

📚 Every drill, every scenario, and every hour spent training helps build stronger firefighters, stronger partnerships, and a safer community. We are proud of the dedication our C Shift personnel continue to demonstrate in their pursuit of excellence.

💪🚒 Train Hard. Stay Ready. Serve Proudly. 🚒💪

🚒 Frontline Feature 🚒

This week, we’re proud to feature Firefighter Jordan Russell.

Jordan is a lifelong Mooresville resident and has dedicated the last 22 years to the fire service. He currently serves as a dedicated part-time firefighter on A-Shift with the Mooresville Fire Department and is also a career firefighter with White River Township Fire Department on C-Shift.

Jordan has been married to his wife, Amy, for 14 years, and together they have three daughters: Tegan, Mealah, and Ryleigh. Their family is rounded out by Duke the dog and three cats—Willow, Winston, and Wallen.

Jordan began his career in public safety at an early age and has spent most of his professional life serving in Fire and EMS. Throughout his career, he has also worked as a truck driver and correctional officer, gaining valuable experiences that have helped shape his work ethic and dedication to service.

When asked what he enjoys most about the job, Jordan’s answer was simple: the people. Whether helping someone through one of the worst days of their life, working alongside a great crew, or being part of the fire service brotherhood and sisterhood, the relationships built through this profession are what make it so rewarding.

One of the biggest challenges Jordan faces is balancing the demands of shift work with family life. Long hours, holidays, and time away from home can be difficult, but the support of his family makes it possible. He also believes one of the greatest challenges—and rewards—is finding a way to brighten someone’s day during their darkest moments.

Outside of the firehouse, Jordan enjoys bowling with fellow department members, building and customizing his Jeep, attending Jeep events, woodworking, and traveling with family and friends. Around the station, you’ll likely find him enjoying Pizza Fridays or Bang Bang Chicken.

Jordan’s advice for new firefighters is to always be present. Be the first up and the last down, make your crew better, and soak up knowledge from those around you. One day, you’ll have the opportunity to pass that knowledge on to the next generation.

For the community, Jordan wants you to know that your firefighters genuinely care about you and are committed to serving with professionalism, compassion, and dedication every day. He also encourages the community to continue supporting their firefighters by attending events, meetings, and standing with them when they need it most.

Thank you, Jordan, for your dedication to the fire service and your continued commitment to the citizens of Mooresville and the communities you serve.
