Kindergarten experiment time! Will it sink or float?
Kinders were making a hypothesis whether the object would sink or float while using positional vocabulary (on top, under, at the bottom) to describe where the objects settle relative to the water line!

It’s early but we are ready! Going home today are yearbook flyers for a pre-order and a discounted price of $25! The flyer says the pre-order date is 8/28 but it is actually 9/11, so get those orders in!

Hi my name is Tammy Southers and I am a 3rd grade teacher at Shepherd. I have a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and more than 20 years of experience in the early childcare field. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to grow from a classroom teacher into a Center Director, gaining a deep understanding of children, families, educators, and the importance of strong early learning environments. I am especially passionate about child development and advocating for the social and emotional wellbeing of every child. I believe we should never underestimate what a child is capable of learning and that children thrive when they are given opportunities to explore, ask questions, create, and follow their curiosity. My goal is to help create environments where children feel safe, valued, heard, and empowered to discover the world around them.

Mrs. Chundrlek’s fifth graders turned geometry into a hands-on challenge this week, building their own structures out of shapes and then taking a gallery walk to see how classmates solved the same problem in different ways. Math doesn’t get much more fun than that!
