Hey everyone. Life sure takes unexpected turns.

On October 10, my son was in a car accident that resulted in a spinal cord injury. After 10 days in the ICU, we made the transition to Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska, where I’ll be by his side for the next 4–6 weeks.

I’m still on the ballot, and I would be grateful for your vote. I’m just not able to actively campaign right now because, first and foremost, I need to be a mom.

Thank you for all the love, support, and encouragement you’ve shown our family. And to everyone who is still out there knocking doors, making calls, and getting the word out, thank you for keeping this campaign going. I’m so grateful to have you in my corner. 🩵

A Sunday full of Doorknocking with my pals!
Hit up a Turf in Moorhead this morning making sure we keep Kupec 4 MN State Senate

Then we cruised up to East Grand Forks to help Jennifer Compeau for MN House 1B and Bjorn for Minnesota knock out 4 turfs.

On Monday night Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe hosted an amazing event. Our Voices Our Future.
I partnered with them in this planning effort and we were very intentional about inviting both parties and all candidates. We had this date picked for months and strongly encouraged the upper ticket candidates to come engage with community. Our tribes have very different needs and it’s important our candidates have community wide conversations, not just quick photo ops pretending like you were at an event.
I want to give a genuine thanks to the candidates who made this event a priority, with well over 250 attendees this was definitely worth their time as I don’t know many greater MN events that are this well attended.

Candidates spent time chatting with community members at their booths, did quick interviews with radio and joined a panel to discuss native specific questions.

Upper ticket candidates who attended the event:
Trina for Congress and Zack for MN Auditor

Upper ticket candidates who sent video messages for the event: Keith Ellison and Steve Simon for Secretary of State

All 6 candidates from the SD2 attended:

Local candidates for Sherrif, county commission and school board were also in attendance.

It’s not new that politicians feel like our tribal communities are easy to just breeze by or assume they will just vote for you, but that’s not true. You have to honestly and genuinely show up in relationship with community.

Another great day of knocking doors for our amazing Senate and House candidates.

Battle Lake was full of really great conversations. Lots of people were impressed with the fact that Owen Werner for House 9B is committed to being part of building the future and they loved Krystyne Knutson for SD9 and her ability to create an inclusive community….. and they BOTH listen and show you.

Thanks to our rookie volunteers who joined us too 🙂 democracy is a team sport.

We had an amazing turnout last night in Leech Lake! I'm genuinely grateful to all the candidates who showed up. Great job Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe.

Almost 20 candidates, from school board to US Congress, non-partisan, GOP and DFL candidates attended this event. Talked about Indigenous specific issues opening and honestly.
