Rest is productive too.

As the school year comes to an end and summer begins, many teens, parents, and families are carrying a lot—emotionally, mentally, and physically.

This season can be a good reminder that slowing down is not laziness. Rest, sleep, time outside, connection, and taking breaks from constant pressure all play an important role in overall mental wellness.

Sometimes the healthiest thing we can do is pause, recharge, and give ourselves permission to breathe.

During Mental Health Awareness Month, Clay County Public Health is encouraging our community to make space for rest, connection, and self-care as we transition into summer.

CredibleMind offers free, private mental wellness resources for teens, parents, and caregivers related to stress, emotional wellness, anxiety, sleep, relationships, and more.

Big transitions can bring big emotions.

As the school year wraps up, graduation approaches, and summer begins, many teens are navigating a mix of excitement, uncertainty, pressure, relief, and change all at once.

Even positive changes can feel emotionally exhausting sometimes.

That’s why supportive conversations matter.

Teens don’t always need adults to have all the answers—but they do need reminders that they are supported, valued, and not alone while navigating what comes next.

During Mental Health Awareness Month, we’re encouraging families and communities to continue creating space for connection, reassurance, and emotional support for young people.

CredibleMind offers free, private mental wellness resources for teens, parents, and caregivers related to stress, emotional wellness, anxiety, transitions, relationships, and more.

Today we remember and honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

Memorial Day is a reminder of the sacrifice, courage, and commitment shown by those who served and never returned home. We are grateful for their dedication and for the freedoms their service helped protect.

As we spend time with family, friends, and community today, we pause in remembrance and gratitude.

Excitement. Uncertainty. Pressure. Hope. Change.

Teen years can be exciting, meaningful, and full of growth.

They can also feel overwhelming.

School pressure. Social stress. Uncertainty about the future. Wanting to fit in while also figuring out who you are.

A lot of teens carry these feelings quietly without knowing how to talk about them.

That’s why supportive adults can make such a powerful difference.

Parents. Teachers. Coaches. Family members. Trusted adults who listen without immediately judging or panicking can help teens feel seen, supported, and not alone.

During Mental Health Awareness Month, we’re encouraging our community to remember that mental health conversations don’t have to start in crisis. Sometimes they simply begin with connection, reassurance, and letting teens know they matter.

Mental health isn’t something we’re supposed to think about only when things fall apart.

Sometimes it’s simply about slowing down long enough to ask:
“How am I really doing?”

That’s one reason we’re excited to share CredibleMind with our community.

CredibleMind offers free, private access to trusted mental wellness resources, videos, articles, and self-check-ins related to stress, sleep, anxiety, emotional wellness, parenting, and more.

And right now, community members who complete the Mental Health Check-In by May 15 will be entered into a drawing for a prize.

A lot of people check in on everyone else before they check in on themselves.

Work. Kids. Deadlines. Stress.

And somewhere in the middle of all of that, we stop asking:
“How am I actually doing?”

Sometimes a simple mental health check-in can help bring clarity to what we’re feeling—without judgment and without pressure.

CredibleMind offers free, private tools and assessments related to stress, anxiety, emotional wellness, sleep, and more.
