It’s Throwback Thursday and today we’re looking back at where it all began.

When CAPLP, known then as the Clay-Wilkin Opportunity Council, opened its office in Moorhead’s old post office building in 1966, there were just three employees working to make a difference in our community.

Today, that mission has grown into a team of more than 140 employees serving communities across multiple locations and programs throughout our region.

From three staff members to a team of 140+, every chapter of our story has been built by people who care deeply about helping others and strengthening our community.

Thank you to everyone, past and present, who has been part of CAPLP’s journey over the last 60+ years.

It's the final week of Community Action Month and today is Testimonial Tuesday!

Last Friday, during a virtual All Staff, team members shared a few client wins that reminded us why this work matters.

Success rarely happens in giant leaps. More often, it happens one conversation, one resource, one breakthrough at a time. Every day across CAPLP, staff witness these small moments of progress, hope, and change.

🌷 A big thank you to Cash Wise for donating beautiful flowers for Friday’s bouquet bar staff fundraiser in support of our United Way campaign.

Staff had the chance to build their own bouquets to brighten their homes and offices while helping raise funds for a great cause. It was a fun way to brighten the day and support a meaningful cause.

Thank you to all the staff that stopped by to participate and supported the campaign.

A huge thank you to the volunteers who joined us for United Way’s Day of Action!

We are incredibly grateful for the time, energy, and care they poured into helping at our REACH location in Hawley. From cleaning windows and shampooing carpets to painting and repairing stonework outside the building, their hard work was so appreciated.

Thank you to all the volunteers for giving their time to support nonprofits in our community.

Head Start turned 61 this week!

Things may change through the decades, but at CAPLP, some experiences never lose their magic.

Visits with the fire department have brought excitement, curiosity, and big smiles to generations of Head Start kids. We love seeing how some traditions continue to create lasting memories year after year.

Here’s a little trip through time featuring fire truck visits from the late 1980s, early 2000s, and this year. 🚒
