El Mes de la Herencia Hispana se celebra cada año desde el 15 de Septiembre al 15 de Octubre. Comenzo como una celebracion que duraba por una semana en 1968 bajo el Presidente Johnson y fue luego extendido a un mes 20 años despues por el presidente Reagan en 1988. La celebración de este mes provee más tiempo para reconocer adecuadamente las contribuciones significantes que los Hipano-Latino-Americanos han hecho en los Estados Unidos.
