Help Drive Opportunity for Clay County Families

A reliable ride can change the course of someone's day—and sometimes their future.

Clay County Social Services is seeking Volunteer Drivers to help individuals and families overcome transportation barriers and access important services throughout our community.
Many of the rides provided through our Volunteer Driver Program support parents and families involved with Child and Family Services. These rides help parents attend visits with their children, participate in required services, attend appointments, and work toward goals that support family stability and reunification. Transportation can often be one of the biggest barriers families faces, and something as simple as a ride can make a meaningful difference.

Volunteer drivers may also help older adults, individuals with disabilities, and other vulnerable community members access appointments, services, and supports that help them remain safe, healthy, and connected.

By volunteering, you're doing more than driving someone from one place to another. You're helping parents stay engaged with their children, helping families access resources, and helping community members maintain their independence and well-being. Volunteers are reimbursed for mileage, making it easy to give back while helping cover the costs associated with driving.

Whether you have a few hours a week or a more flexible schedule, your time can have a direct impact on the lives of Clay County residents.

If you're looking for a meaningful way to give back to your community, we would love to hear from you.

For questions about the Volunteer Driver Program or to learn how to get involved, please contact Andy Burthold ([email protected] or 218-299-7130) at Clay County Social Services.

Because sometimes the road to a better future, starts with a ride.
