Professor Aaron Quanbeck from the School of Communication & Journalism recently hosted a special storytelling clinic, inviting legendary broadcaster and 150-time regional Emmy Award winner Boyd Huppert to connect with journalism students.

As one of the most decorated and revered narrative journalists in the history of television, Huppert spent an hour breaking down the mechanics of compelling storytelling. The session gave aspiring journalists an incredible opportunity to dive deep into the craft with a true titan of the industry, leaving the next generation of reporters with insights and inspiration for their own careers.

These iconic stained-glass windows, which originally resided in Weld Hall and were later moved to the Library, were dedicated to the men and women of Moorhead State Teachers College who served in the war.

They signify "Self-Sacrifice," "Service", and "Undying Loyalty."

As Weld Hall construction nears its final stages, we are excited to see them returned to their original home.

A unique study abroad experience brought together students from various majors for a once-in-a-lifetime trip through Italy and Turkey.

"Traveling through a faculty-led program gave me the opportunity to explore with peers while learning from knowledgeable professors," advertising & public relations student Celia Hawton shared.

With students from diverse disciplines like art, history, and chemistry, professors took up the challenge of building connections between topics. Students opened their eyes to new cultures, gained independence, and learned valuable lessons, all while completing required credits.

Fargo-Moorhead has embraced her pottery studio Rising Dawn Ceramics, which has now moved to downtown Fargo. With the move, she'll be able to expand her class offerings while offering space for working ceramicists.

Minnesota State Moorhead construction management students recently gained valuable field experience by touring over one billion dollars in active construction projects across North Dakota.

Over a two day period, more than thirty juniors and seniors visited six major infrastructure and architectural sites, including the Theodore Roosevelt National Library and the Dickinson Water Treatment Plant.

By observing these massive developments in progress and connecting directly with leading industry professionals, students gained real world context that bridges the gap between classroom theory and career readiness.

Congratulations to Sollera, formerly R**e and Abuse Crisis Center, on their rebrand and new home.

We are proud to have a longstanding partnership with Sollera, from being a workplace for many Dragon alumni to the services they provide for our students. Sollera chief executive officer Chris Johnson, Ph.D., still remembers his time as a Moorhead Social Work student as a transformative journey.

"It is apparent that the faculty is there for you," Chris said. "This stuck with me throughout my entire academic journey."

We are excited for Sollera as they enter into this new era of growth, expanding their ability to serve our community.
