Minnesota State Moorhead's Computer Science & Information Systems Department is launching Dragon Ember Solutions, a new student-run technical agency that connects local small businesses and non-profits with supervised student teams.

Through this program, regional organizations can receive support for essential tech needs, including website updates, content management, spreadsheet cleanup and data reformatting, and technology inventories or setup. Projects run from mid January through early May.

Work is completed under faculty supervision on a best effort basis. Project slots for the spring term are limited, and client applications must be submitted by Friday, November 20 at 5 p.m.

Minnesota State Moorhead computer science students Max Sheridan, Noble Ahrens, and Isaac Bergerson captured first place at the DigiKey Collegiate Computing Competition in Thief River Falls for the second consecutive year. Coached by Professor Ronni Kurtzhals, the team showcased their programming and problem-solving skills against regional competitors.

Each student received a $300 prize, while the team earned $5,000 for the CSIS Department to support the MSUM ACM Club and campus activities, proving that Dragons continue to lead the way with back-to-back victories.

Minnesota State Moorhead offers Minnesota State Community and Technical College - M State students the fastest, most direct path to a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management. Through a pre-mapped 2+2 transfer agreement, up to 52+ technical credits apply directly toward a bachelor's degree.

This partnership allows students to earn two degrees in four years without losing time or repeating coursework.
Upgrading to a BS delivers immediate payoff, unlocking higher starting salaries and rapid advancement into project management leadership.

This agreement is one of 11 regional transfer agreements maintained by MSUM Construction Management to ensure seamless credit transition.

Two of Moorhead's online programs earned high marks in the recent rankings from the website Research․com

In the website's 2027 rankings, two Moorhead programs earned strong recognition across Minnesota. Our Online Operations Management Degree came in at #2 statewide among online undergraduate business-related programs.
Meanwhile, the MBA program earned a top spot in the state rankings, citing its flexibility for working professionals and robust student support.
